Addicted

I love my blogroll. I add new ones once in a while, sometimes I save someone in my favorites until I have time to edit my blogroll. Some of those on my roll I read regularly but haven't yet commented, I can only say, I'm not yet sure why, but I probably will comment one of these days.

If you are not on my blogroll and you want me to add you, leave a comment ... PLEASE.

I'm pretty much totally addicted to some of my blogs. I've lost my taste for ebay and now I guess it's official. I'm a blog hag? blogslut? bloghound? not sure if there is a word or if I have to make one up ... I get all shaky and stuff if I don't read my blogroll. Some of you I can't read at work (UGH!!!!!) because it gets blocked (web filters SUCK!). For those ones, I try to read when I can.

There are truly some great writers that are seemingly everyday kinda people. I want to be a better writer.

The funniest thing about my blogroll, I have quite a few cooking blogs - oh and HOW I love them ... I adore all of my cooking blogs. But quite a few of them are gourmet cooks (hahahahahahaha); I do not cook all that well but with these delicious amazing recipes staring me in the face week after week, I tell ya ...sometimes I just have to try them.

So, a new plan of mine is to actually COOK things that are mentioned in these cooking blogs. I made these cookies at 101 cookbooks this weekend and they were ... WOW, but let me tell you how much I totally LOVE cookies and how much I totally love brown sugar cookies. They were awesome, and for someone that doesn't bake and never ever ever made cookies that you need an actual cookie cutter to make (yeah, I'm that much of a total looser); these were not that difficult and turned out darn yummy (not too sweet). I left out the poppy seeds because I didn't have any poppy seeds and I wasn't about to let that stand in my way - no more excuses for not making them, so I will attempt these again, focusing on the addition of poppy seeds and more of an attempt to make them as perdy as 101 Cookbooks. Mine may taste good, but they sure do not look perdy!

If you have not yet skimmed my bloglist you owe it to yourself to get to know Deb at smitten kitchen, it's not a joke folks but when my mouse hesitates on her blog, my mouth waters ... I am not lying. Check her out and tell me I'm wrong. There are so many great ones ... how about the fact that I'm not even that much of a fan of cupcakes, but these ladies have wonderful pictures!

And now I feel guilty because I have to go home now and I really wanted to tell you all the reasons I adore your blogs, but I do have to go, my eyes are on fire. I didn't get much sleep last night and my eyes are so very tired! (Some of you already know about my insomnia last night becasue I posted comments on your blog at 3:30am.)

Back to my promise. I will start making some of these things I see and drool over and I'll tell you how I faired.

An unrelated picture of my girlys, a neighbor girl and the boy friend my WildChild adores. K is a ladies man.

  1. I am at last committed to getting off the excess weight that I have gained since having children so I will vicariously enjoy through you all your cooking endeavours!

I, too, love to read cooking blogs. I'll be sure to check out some of the ones you link to. gourmetmama is one of my favorites--healthy, yummy, generally easy, stuff!

    Love the picture! So funny!

  5. You sound an awful lot like me, my friend. I don't have anything too original to go along with that, but I definitely am hopelessly lost in the world of blogs, and dealing with some pretty bad insomnia. Not a great combination.

    But whaddya gonna do?

  6. Hi Tornado,
Yes, my fellow insomniac, I'm one of the people that you commented on at wee hours of the morn. I'm sending you some cyber melatonin so you can get more than a few hours of sleep tonight. Or would you like some milk and cookies instead;) By the way, thanks so much for adding us to your blog roll call. We so appreciate it!!
