INPUT

Over the past few weeks, a list of my brain feeders...

While at work all around me, political discussions and arguments. The drama of this election affects so many.

Sweetly spoken words of love from my girlys.

Finished two books on CD; Water for Elephants and Have a New Kid by Friday. Both very good books, but now I'm ready for a classic; modern literature and self help books leave me wanting something more substantial. I have read two exceptions, The Life of Pi and The Alchemist, two excellent books that have a reserved spot in the list of future classics. Matter of fact, I may start with a reread of The Alchemist, it's about a boy's personal journal of spiritual enlightenment, it's not boring or a children's book but a book of a journey and I like to read of journeys.

The movie - another classic movie that very few people will see, which is unfortunate. If you are a movie lover and can appreciate the simplicities of a great film, well you may enjoy The Fall. I've been waiting a very long time for this one, and it was worth the wait. It is the type of movie, I could watch again and again.

Then there are the blogs that I read - such imaginative writers depicting satisfying lives, humorous anecdotes, mouth-watering FOOD; that entertain me and make me feel like I'm a distant friend.

  1. When I worked in an office, I always tried really hard to stay out of the political discussions. I just didn't want to be pigeonholed by anyone. I always knew when a colleague was trying to pull me into it, and I never took the bait.

Of course, now that I work at home, I have political debates with the dog for hours on end. Great fun.

(OK, they're mostly one-sided, but he's quite the conversationalist.)
