Take it out on my pillo

My girls have homework to do while they are grounded.

I gave each of them their assignment last night. WildChild had to list things she can do to calm herself down before she completely LOOSES it. Showstopper had to write me a list of things for her to say after someone does something nice for her. My WildChild gave me her list this morning. She took at least an hour working on it. The ShowStopper is the biggest procrastinator on the planet (she inherited that from me, poor thing).

The WildChilds list of things to do to CALM herself.

1 - Take it out on my pillo at home.

2 - Dont take it out at all.

3 - Dra a pictsr of it.

Isn't she smart? I asked her to add one more thing to this list, "Take a deep breathe (or two or three or four whatever it takes).

We've been doing some yoga around here, maybe the breathing exercises will help remind her to take deep breathes when she feels overwhelmed.

I guess it wouldn't hurt if I was more visual when I took deep breathes while stressing. If the girlys see me doing it, they may learn from example.

  1. I'd be afraid of hyperventilating with all the deep breaths I'd have to take.

  2. Hi, thought I should drop by and read some of yours since you've been reading mine. I love your assignment. Punishment that makes them think - are you a teacher? When I student taught in middle school I used to make them fill a paper front and back with the definition for "respect", when they were rude to me or each other.

  3. Hi Jen. I'm glad you stopped by.

I 'almost' had a masters in El Ed. I was 3 classes and a thesis away, but that was several years ago. I teach Sunday school now, and I like it, although I learn as I teach.

    My undergrad is in Biology.

I work as an Exchange Administrator.

I know. It's all very strange indeed, what do you excect from a Tornado?

I hope the Yoga helps. And the learning by example :)
